As reported extensively by news media over the past few days, a security vulnerability has been discovered in OpenSSL (CVE-2014-0160). This vulnerability, more commonly known as the “Heartbleed” bug, allows remote hackers to obtain sensitive information by sending a malicious heartbeat message to a web server to trick it into giving up sensitive information.
